God works in 'ways we cannot understand'
In response to a reader's letter to the editor in the April 12 edition, I'd like to direct our attention to Isaiah 55:8-9.
While I am not a fan of isolating a couple of verses without looking at them in context, I believe it will serve us well to remember these words of God: “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, declares the Lord. For the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.”
God works in mysterious ways, ways we cannot understand. We may be smart, but we are not smarter than God. That said, how can mere mortals state that Donald Trump's election to president of the United States is unequivocally NOT divine intervention? That is, unless the mere mortal(s) doesn't believe Isaiah 55:8-9.
Additionally, can mere mortal(s) unequivocally state that it WAS divine intervention?
It may be wisest to look at all the imperfect people that God has worked through over centuries of time and simply note that with Him, anything is possible.
