Local group shows appreciation for law enforcement

The Pope County Together We Are Stronger group expressed their “sincere appreciation to the men and women that serve as law enforcement officers in Pope County.” The local group wanted to let law enforcement know that they have the community’s support.  “They are constantly there to protect us and help us in times of need!” said Karen Holte, of Pope County Together We Are Stronger.

Members of the community stepped up to donate items and gift cards to make appreciation bags for law enforcement in the county. “It’s a small thing to do but we hope it lets them know we care and that we are behind them!” Holte said last week.

The tag on each bag reads:

Dear Hero,

Who walks among us, you never look for glory or praise. You only wish to help, serve, and save. You are selfless and fair. You are the protector of our freedom and you do what is right. We appreciate you every day and every night. We hope that you know how much you mean to us. Without your service and sacrifice we would all lose. This gift is meant to say “Thank You” for your service and we pray for your safety. We believe in you and support you every step of the way!

“As a community, we stand together! Take time to thank our local officers next time you see them and let’s continue to spread kindness!” said Holte.
