State Rep. Paul Anderson, R-Starbuck, took his seventh oath of office in the Minnesota House of Representatives Tuesday as the 92nd Legislature was installed at the Capitol.

Anderson was re-elected to the House in November. He represents District 12B, encompassing portions of Pope Stearns and Douglas counties. He was selected as the lead Republican on the House’s Agriculture Finance and Policy Committee. He also is serving on the Legacy Finance and Property Tax Division committees.

“Starting out with the session conducted virtually instead of in person will itself be a challenge,” Anderson said last week. “As for some of the main issues, this is going to be a challenging session, especially since it is a budget year and our state has experienced a setback in recent months due to the COVID-19 outbreak and the response to it. Working to safely re-open our businesses that have been devastated by restrictions placed upon them would not only help people get back to work, it would improve the state’s bottom line.

“Also, I will be advocating to increase the ethanol blend in our state’s gasoline from 10 percent to 15 percent. And I remain in opposition to bringing California’s auto standards to Minnesota.”

Anderson said he welcomes input from local citizens throughout the year, particularly during the legislative session. He can be reached by emailing or by calling (651) 296-4317. Anderson also provides periodic email updates and citizens can sign up to receive them at his official state website:
