The Minnewaska golf teams each swept their WCC meets on Tuesday. The boys started in Morris, where they were 20 shots better than runner-up Morris.

The girls first match on Tuesday was at Tipsinah Mounds in Elbow Lake, the home course for West Central Area. The Minnewaska girls won by 25 shots over second-place BOLD.

The boys traveled from Morris to Elbow Lake later in the day and won again, taking a 13-shot win over the host West Central team.

The girls were in Morris for the second match on Tuesday and came away with a 19-shot win over the Warriors.

The boys had good consistency on the day, with Zach Gugisberg, Logan Kostelelcky and Riley Larson finishing under 40 at both courses.

Alissa Thorfinnson shot her best score of the year, a 38, at Elbow Lake, to lead Minnewaska. Berkley Steffen paced the Lakers’ win at Morris with a 41.

Both the boys’ and girls’ teams took part in invitationals on Friday.

The boys were at Little Crow Golf Club in Spicer on Friday, where they took fifth place amongst 20 teams. The Lakers were again very balanced, with all four scores counted to the team total falling between 81 and 85. The host team from NL-S took the top spot.

The girls were at their home course along with eight other teams on Friday. Minnewaska took sixth place as three Lakers each shot 87. The team from Alexandria took first place.
