After one week of competition, the Lakers’ trap team is currently in fourth place, by a mere half a target.

“Proctor is sitting in first place and they are a very tough team,” stated coach Jennie Stone. “But I don’t see any reason we can’t bust our way into second place in the next few weeks.”

Once again, the wind was extreme for competition in week two and the team struggled.

“We have seriously had only one shooting day where the wind was under 15 mph, and it is tough for the kids to see progress. It is starting to wear on everyone. I know if the wind ever dies down, we will do great,” noted coach Jennie.

Seventh grader August Reichmann didn’t seem to mind the wind as he dusted 46×50 targets to earn high gun for the week.

“August has been such a great addition to the team, he comes out and remembers why he is there. He shoots over a 20 average every week no matter what the conditions,”  observed coach Jennie.

Mason Rohloff shot his personal best on Thursday and had an impressive 44×50.

“Mason is another one that just really focuses when he is out there and just keeps improving. He is so fun to watch!”

The team competes again on Monday, May 2.
