Although weather changed things for day two of the Class AA girls golf state tournement, the Blue Jackets of Minnewaska/Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (BBE) adapted and moved up one spot to finish fourth overall with a total score of 539.

All the groups started off on hole No. 10 and put up their best scores on the back nine. That changed the tournament from 36 to 27 holes.

“It’s never easy when you have a delay, especially that long,” said Minnewaska/BBE girls golf coach Tony Janu. “You come to the course with a game plan with how you’re going to warm up, and that’s all out the window. And then you wait and wait, and when you finally find out, you have to rejuvenate the girls. …But everyone’s got to go through it,” he told the West Central Tribune after the round.

The move to the back nine turned out all right for the Blue Jackets. They shot a score of 173 on Day 2 and moved up one spot to finish fourth overall with a score of 539.
