It is time to gather together again for the annual Partners in Ag Innovation Conference hosted by the Kandiyohi County & City of Willmar Economic Development Commission and the MinnWest Technology Campus on Tuesday, July 26th in Willmar. The Ag and Animal Science community are invited to join this year’s conference which will focus on new opportunities, connecting communities, engaging the next generation, and promoting sustainable practices.

The last few years have been challenging with inflation, supply chain issues, and layered weather concerns throughout the pandemic but the silver lining has been innovation, adaptation, and growth in the agricultural world. During the conference, you’ll hear personal stories of experiences from rural broadband to carbon and renewable energy updates with a connecting string of how to go from the mode of surviving to thriving.

Dr. Matt Roberts, an expert on Ag, commodity markets, energy issues, and biofuels, will be kicking off the event by getting us up to speed on continuous changes in the economy. Personal stories of sustainability, working with the next generation, and expanding opportunities will be woven throughout the day. The day closes with a session focused on farm management, transitions, and legacy planning. “This is an amazing opportunity for producers as the topics highlight growth and innovation with helpful tools to fill your toolbox for a successful farming business,” said Sarah Swedburg, Business Development Manager, Kandiyohi County & City of Willmar Economic Development Commission.

There is no cost for qualified Ag professionals and breakfast and lunch are served during the conference which runs from 7:50 am – to 1:30 pm.
