Sons of Norway  – Mjøsen Lodge 175 of Pope County was awarded the District 1 Lodge of the Year for 2021 at the District’s 59th Biennial Convention in Cragun’s Resort this past week.

Mjøsen Lodge Delegates to the Convention were Marjorie Engebretson, Karen Freeman and Sue Wright. 

There are 70 Lodges in District 1 that serve more than  6,500 members within Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri and Texas.  District 1 is one of 8 Districts across the United States, Canada and Norway.

Mjøsen Lodge member Jerry Wright served as Zone 4 Director for the 9 lodges in the west central area and on the District Board for the past 6 years.  At the Convention, Jerry was elected vice president of the District 1 Lodge Board for 2022-2024 term.

Mjøsen Lodge was established in 1916 and continues to provide monthly cultural presentations or activities for their members and those interested from the Pope County community.
