This month Prairie Lakes Audubon Chapter will have their annual picnic and bird outing on Saturday, June 18, at the Pomme de Terre Campground & Park in Morris. This is a wonderful setting for a bird outing with their paved bike trails for easy walking. If interested, meet at the Lion’s shelter at 9:30 a.m. The bird outing will take place first, planning to return by 11:30 a.m. to the shelter house for a potluck picnic. Bring a dish to share, your own tableware and non-alcoholic beverages. If you want to come just for the picnic, that is fine, too. There will be greeters waiting at the shelter house.

The Lion’s shelter house is located in the south end of the park. Google Maps will have you come in from the north. Instead, follow Hwy 59 south to the sign for the US Fish & Wildlife Service. Turn left onto Minnesota Drive. Follow the sign for US Fish & Wildlife Service and Pomme de Terre Park, to make a quick left onto 230th St / Stearns Cty 10. Cross the bridge and drive to East Pomme de Terre Road, turn left into the campground.  Drive straight, past the quilt block signs, through the campground to the Lion’s shelter house (the second shelter house). Watch for the PLA Meeting signs.

We look forward to having you join us! We will meet rain or shine.

There is no cost to attend this program. All are welcome.

Prairie Lakes Audubon Chapter is the local chapter of National Audubon Society for anyone interested in birds and nature. There informal meetings monthly and at least one birding field trip each month. Please join us to support the Chapter and meet fellow birders.
