Starbuck 18 PRBA 1 Game 1

Starbuck Junior Legion Post 4582 was PRBA for a doubleheader on Friday, June 3.

Starbuck got things started in the first inning when Austin Ballhagen singled on a 1-1 count, scoring the first run. Starbuck notched six more runs in the second inning and kept the scoring finishing with 18 runs on 12 hits.

Levi Johnson, PJ Johnson and Dylan Alexander all had multiple hits for Starbuck.  Levi Johnson went 3-4 at the plate to lead Starbuck hitters.

Starbuck 10 PRBA 4  Game 2

Game two was more of the same for Starbuck as they racked up the runs and won, 10-4. 

Starbuck collected eight hits in the winning effort with Levi Johnson, PJ Johnson and Dylan Alexander all getting multiple hits.

June 16 at Minnetonka

Starbuck 22 Excelsior 0

Starbuck Junior Legion Post 4582 kept up its winning ways defeating Excelsior 22-0 as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout.

Starbuck was boosted by PJ Johnson whe went 4-4 at the plate.  He tripled in the first inning, singled in the third and fourth innings and singled again in the fourth.  Starbuck scored 10 runs in the fourth inning.

Nathan Dell took the win for Starbuck, but only pitched two innings.  He allowed  two hits and struck out two and didn’t allow any runs. 

Starbuck Junior Legion scattered 11 hits in the game.  PJ Johnson and Dylan Alexander each collected multiple hits  with Johnson going 4-4 to lead in hits for Starbuck.  Starbuck did not commit a single error in the field. 

June 17 at Minnetonka

Starbuck 11  Harrisburg 3

Again, the Starbuck Junior Legion team easily dispatched the Harrisburg Tigers at Minnetonka.

Starbuck scored right away in the first inning when PJ Johnson tripled, scoring two runs.  The team then added five more runs in the fourth inning with Levi Johnson, Jack Majerus and Dylan Alexander all driving in runs.

Alex Panitzke was credited with the victory.  The righthander went four and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out three.  Ryland Martin threw a third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Levi Johnson went 2-3 at the plate to lead the Starbuck Jr. Legion in hits.   

June 17 at Minnetonka

Starbuck 6  Eastview  5

Starbuck took the next game on Friday in dramatic fashion with a 6-5 walk-off victory over Eastview Thunder.  The game was tied at five with Starbuck batting in the bottom of eight when Levi Johnson singled on a 1-0 count, scoring the winning run.

Ryland Anderson was credited with the victory for Starbuck.  He surrendered two runs on two hits over one and one-third innings, striking out two and walking one.  But it was PJ Johnson who started on the mound for Starbuck and went six and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out seven.

PJ Johnson also went 2-4 at the plate to lead Starbuck in hits.  Again the team committed no errors.

June 18 at Minnetonka

Starbuck 6- St. Michael-Albertville 8

Starbuck lost a 4-3 lead in the fifth inning in the 8-6 defeat to St. Michael-Albertville.

Starbuck totaled nine hits.  Alex Panitzke and Ryland Martin had multiple hits in the game.  Jack Maerus started on the mound for Starbuck and allowed three hits and four runs over four innings.  He struck out seven.  Connor Frey and Levi Johnson both pitched, throwing two innings and one inning, respectively.

Starbuck, again, committed no errors.    

June 19 at Minnetonka

Starbuck 5  Creighton Prep 9

The Creighton Prep Junior Blue Jays of Omaha, Nebraska, beat Starbuck at the Minnetonka Tournament.Starbuck built a 3-0 lead until Creighton Prep scored four in the fourth inning and three more in the fifth. Dylan Alexander went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Starbuck.
