The VFW Auxiliary to Starbuck Post 4582 held their regular meeting on Monday, July 11, 2022, at 2 p.m. at the meeting room of the VFW with President Karen Tharaldson presiding. The Chaplain offered the opening prayer and the pledge to the flag was given. The roll call of officers found 8 present and 6 absent with 12 total members present. The secretary’s report was read and approved. The treasurer’s report was read and filed subject to audit.  

Information noted: The next Auxiliary Meeting will be held on Aug. 8, 2022, at 2 p.m. The Minnesota VFW and Auxiliary Fall Conference will be held in Plymouth Sept. 23-25. The Charter was draped in memory of Past National President Marion Watson of Kentucky who passed away in June of 2022.

Unfinished business: The Bike Rodeo held in partnership with the Starbuck Police was a success with 83 bike riders registered.  The Starbuck VFW Auxiliary and the Kuusisto family distributed 864 hand-held flags at the beginning of the Heritage Parade.

New business: The names on the signature cards and the signers on the Auxiliaries checking and savings accounts at Eagle bank are to be Karen Tharaldson, President and Carol Engh, Treasurer for this program year beginning with this meeting, July 11, 2022. Deb Kuusisto moved to pay the bills. Sheree Williamson seconded the motion and the motion carried. Deb Kuusisto moved to partner with the Starbuck Depot as volunteers to provide a lunch during the Night on the Town at the Starbuck Depot on Thursday, July 28, at 4:30 p.m. Sheree Williamson seconded the motion and the motion carried. Pat Aaberg moved to reimburse members up to $3 for each item purchased to use for prizes for the Silver Tea scheduled for Sept. 17. Sheree Williamson seconded the motion and the motion carried.  Ruby Aaberg presented the April-June audit report and moved to accept the report. Deb Kuusisto seconded the motion and the motion passed.  

Kathryn Kyvig’s name was drawn for the quarter drawing and Gail Johnson’s name was drawn for the door prize of $7. She was not in attendance. The meeting was closed according to the rituals.
