AgCode recently announced the retirement of Dion Harste as chief operations officer effective on October 1, of this year.

Since founding the company in 2002, Harste has been a key player in AgCode and its success. The AgCode team is thankful for the foundation Dion has built, the relationships he has fostered and for his leadership over the last 20 years.

“The success of AgCode has not been about one person; it is the result of a team of dedicated, quality individuals that have always put the customer first. We have assembled a highly capable team, built a loyal customer base, and our vision for the company and the AgCode product will ensure we continue to grow. It is the right time to retire,” says Harste.

In 2017, Harste sold AgCode to Cavallo Ventures, an investment arm of Wilbur-Ellis. Harste committed to staying on as an officer as the company transitioned.

“I will miss the team and our customers,” Harste shares. “Many of the employees at AgCode have been there for the better part of the last two decades. It is my hope that we have brought efficient and effective solutions to our customers. I have thoroughly enjoyed the process of innovation; bringing mobile technology to the specialty crop sector has been a welcome bonus to the customer relationships and success we have cultivated.”

In retirement Harste will continue consulting, investing in home building and pursuing his passion working with youth on the golf course. He and his wife look forward to spending time with their three grown children and their expanding family.
