Minnewaska Area High School will play in three different sections this winter.  The Lakers play in Section 3AA for boys and girls basketball, Section 5A for wrestling and Section 4A for Dance Jazz and High Kick.

The Minnesota State High School League redoes the section alignments every two years and the new section alignments for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 school years will come out April 6, 2023.

The Lakers play in the 16-school Section 3AA for girls and boys basketball.  Other schools include ACGC, EV-Watkins, Litchfield, Luverne, Montevideo, Morris Area-CA, NLS, Paynesville, West Central Area and Redwood Valley.

In wrestling, the Lakers continue to compete in Section 5A with Benson, KMS, BBE, BOLD, Ortonville, Paynesville Area, ACGC, Canby and Minneota.

And, for dance, the Lakers will be competing with 14 other teams in Section 4A with Aitkin, Bagley, Blackduck, Crookston, Crosby-Ironton, DGF, Ely, Frazee, Hawley, Mahnomen-Waubun, Marshall School of Duluth, Osakis, Pelican Rapids and Wadena-DC.
