Last fall all 6th graders at Glacial Hills and Minnewaska Elementary were invited to participate in the Lions International “Peace Poster” contest.  Nine students were awarded cash prizes last Tuesday evening at a joint Glenwood and Lowry Lions dinner meeting for the students, parents, and teachers.  Lions Clubs around the world have long been sponsoring this annual art contest in schools and among youth groups. By creating Peace Posters, children have an opportunity to express their visions of a peaceful planet, thereby inspiring the world through idealism, creativity, and posters. The Theme of the 2022-2023 contest was “Lead With Compassion”.   Special thanks to the 6th grade teachers for sharing their passion for art and inspiring their students, said Glenwood Lion President Mike Bartell.
