Mikael Moe, Kashton Hormann and Wyatt Hill, members of the Minnewaska youth wrestling program, competed in Rochester at the MN/USA State Tournament, Friday, March 17.

They all had won a qualifier event earlier this season to earn the berth at the state tourney.

•  Mikael Moe wrestled in the 6 and under 52-57 pound bracket and won all three matches at state to claim the state title.

•  Kashton Hormann wrestled in the 8 and under 48-51 pound bracket, posting a 4-1 record to place third overall at the state tourney.

•  Wyatt Hill wrestled in the 8 and under 44-47 pound bracket, winning his first match, but losing the next two and was eliminated.

Helping the young wrestlers out as coaches throughout the season were Collin Cihlar, Ken Moe, Devin Hormann, Tyrel Swensrud, Kevin Mau and Kevin Swensrud.

In addition, Craig Cihlar of Rockford and Andre Bradley of Big Lake helped coach the two young Minnewaska Area wrestlers at the state tourney.
