Fire causes severe damage to Glenwood home

The front portion of a residential home at 15 Second Ave. SE in Glenwood was engulfed in flames when the Glenwood Fire Department arrived on the scene about 9 a.m. on Saturday morning, June 28.
The Glenwood firefighters make quick work of getting the fire under control. The Starbuck Fire Department was also on the scene and Glenwood Fire Chief Bruce Cerney said he also called in the Villard Fire Department for assistance.
Firefighters fought the flames from outside the home first and then doused the inside with water through the roof vents, windows and entryways.
The homeowners were in the house at the time the fire was reported, but escaped with no injuries.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation on Saturday afternoon.
The home sustained severe fire and smoke damage and was uninhabitable after the fire.
Firefighters remained on the scene until about 12:30 p.m.
