Minnewaska track and field teams announce season awards

The Minnewaska Area track and field teams had one of the best seasons in school history during the 2025 spring season. The two teams dominated area meets before sending 21 athletes to the State Meet in 16 events.
The Lakers girls won the section true-team meet before going on to finish fifth of 12 teams at the State True-Team Meet at Eden Prairie.
The girls team won 11 of the 14 meets it was entered in this season, while the boys team was first in four meets and second in three others.
Highlighting the season was the State Meet where the Laker girls placed second overall in Class AA and the boys placed 13th.
Leading the way for the Minnewaska Area track and field teams at the state meet were Owen Meulebroeck, who placed second in the 300 meter hurdles; Lauryn Ankeny, who was fourth in the 100 hurdles, fifth in the 300 hurdles and eighth with the 1600 meter relay team of Dacia Fleury, Nori Song and Olivia Danielson; and Jayda Kolstoe, who was second in the shot put and fourth in the discus.
Also placing at the state meet was the 400 meter relay team of Kaiden Harvey, Tristan O’Neil, Carter Meyer and Asante Adams (third place) and the girls 3200 meter relay team of Ella Larson, Maia Larson, Song and Danielson (sixth place).
Among this year’s awardwinners were overall MVP’s Kaiden Harvey, Lauryn Ankeny and Owen Meulebroeck; running event MVP’s Ian Mills and Nori Song; field event MVP’s Jayda Kolstoe and Lucas Tauber; and Muelebroeck and Dacia Fleury, who were Mr. and Miss Minnesota Track and Field nominees for 2025.
Earning All-Conference for the teams this year were Tristan O’Neil, Asante Adams, Carter Meyer, Ian Mills, Mason Danielson, Kaiden Harvey, Owen Meulebroeck, Zach Palmer, Luke Hoffmann, Maia Larson, Ellie Winter, Ella Larson, Nori Song, Allison Curry, Lyla Stadtherr, Jayda Kolstoe, Aubrey Polzin, Emma Hellerman, Mya VanLuik, Olivia Danielson, Lauryn Ankeny and Dacia Fleury.
Selected Academic All-State for the Lakers this spring were Emma Hellerman, Ella Larson, Olivia Danielson, Allison Curry, Carter Meyer, Ian Mills, Zach Palmer, Jayda Kolstoe, Lauryn Ankeny, Dacia Fleury, Mya VanLuik, Kaiden Harvey, Owen Meulebroeck and Luke Hoffmann.
Those athletes were also joined on the Academic All-Conference team by Nolan Stark, Jacob Mrnak, Melena Longtin, Kendra Wilmes, McKenna Uhde, Avarie Uhde, Sydney Ankeny, Mesa Kittelson, Aubrey Stark, Alia Randt, Jazlyn Fleury, Piper Citrowske-Lee, Lyla Stadtherr, Jayda Kolstoe, Kileigh Wilmes, Sophia Wallin, Carly Jergenson, Phemie Oeltjen and Addy Kath.
