Donna M. Blair, 91, of Alexandria, formerly of Glenwood, died on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at her son’s home and original farmstead near Glenwood.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at New Life Christian Church in Alexandria with Pastor Gregg Donnelly officiating. Music was provided by Laurie Musselman, Kari Ahlquist and Ashley Ahlbrecht. Donna’s service can be seen at www.lindfamilyfh.com/obituary/Donna-Blair. Interment took place at Lake Ann Cemetery, Glenwood.
Donna Maxine was born on Sept. 11, 1929, to Oscar and Anna (Carlson) Erickson on the family farm near Swift Falls. Donna attended country school through the eighth grade and graduated from Glenwood High School in 1947. She was united in marriage to James “Dale” Blair on Oct. 10, 1947, at the Reformed Presbyterian Church near Glenwood. Following their marriage they purchased a farm near Glenwood and named it Blair Farms. She stayed at home to raise her children and was an excellent bookkeeper for the farm. During their life they attended First Baptist Church in Alexandria, Glenwood Baptist Church and Alexandria Covenant Church. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, and was known for her baking (especially chocolate chip cookies). Most of all, Donna loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Dale; infant brother, Donovan Erickson; daughter-in-law, Lynn Blair; brother-in-law, Art Stone; and grandsons, Joey Ferguson and Daniel Ahlbrecht.
