Glacial Hills Elementary 6th grade students participated in the 2022 International Clubs’ Annual Peace Poster Contest that was hosted by the Glenwood and Lowry Lions Club over the winter.  The Peace Poster project is a worldwide project/competition for kids aged 11-13. The students were tasked with creating a piece of art communicating the theme “We Are All Connected” using no words or numbers.  Only art and symbols common with “Peace” were allowed on their poster.

Glenwood and Lowry Lions Clubs recently recognized and thanked the participants at Glacial Hills Elementary this year.   Pictured left are: Lion Mike Bartell, Glenwood Lions Club; Zayden Johnson; Tyreese Schwandt; Taylor Denk; Isannah Walsh; and Mr. Harrison, Glacial Hills Elementary 6th Grade teacher. Lions’clubs around the world have proudly sponsored the Lions International Peace Poster Contest in local schools and youth groups for the past 30 years. It’s estimated that over 450,000 students participate in this contest each year. This art contest for kids encourages young people worldwide to express their visions of peace.   The winner of each of the Lions districts will be sent to compete at the 2022 Lions Clubs International Convention June 24-28 in Montréal, Canada.
