The Minnewaska baseball team began the week with an unexpected home game on Tuesday. The Lakers were scheduled to play at West Central, but muddy fields at Barrett forced the game to move to Marthaler Field.
The Lakers played the game as the visitors and batted first. The Minnewaska offense was consistent, scoring in every inning. Jacob Blair and Jack Majerus each singled and scored in the first inning and the Lakers were off and running.
Minnewaska finished with a flourish, scoring six times in the final inning while getting only one base hit.
Jack Larson and Hunter Johnson handled the pitching chores, with Larson going two innings in his first start of the year and Johnson tossing the final five innings.
