WCC Championships

Minnewaska hosted the West Central Conference Track & Field championships on Tuesday under wet, chilly  conditions.

The Minnewaska girls continued their successful season, taking first place while nearly doubling up the score of second-place Benson/KMS.

The boys’ team finished in fourth place and took first place in one event, the 4 x 800 relay.

The girls’ team swept all four relays and also had a first place finish in the 400 meter run by McKenzie Luetmer.   

Next up for the Lakers is the state sub-section meet in Sauk Centre on Tuesday.

State True Team

The Minnewaska girls’ Track & Field team spent the day on Saturday in Stillwater, competing in the State True Team meet.

The Lakers finished in third place, just behind first-place Grand Meadow/Leroy-Ostrander and Luverne.

Minnewaska was unable to secure any first place finishes, which led to the third place overall team finish. But the Lakers  took second-place six times, including three of the four relays.
