May 10 at Minnewaska

Minnewaska 6 Osakis 1 

On Monday the Minnewaska boys’ tennis team hosted Osakis and the Lakers cruised to a 6-1 victory.

Singles players Connor Quelle and Konner Hanson, along with the doubles tandem of Tenzin Dahl and Noah Palmer all took 6-0, 6-0 victories.

May 12 @ Detroit Lakes

Minnewaska 4 Detroit Lakes 3 

Minnewaska traveled to Detroit Lakes on Thursday and prevailed in a 4-3 battle.

The teams split the four singles matches, with Tate Reichmann and Konner Hanson winning convincingly.

The final two points needed for victory came from the doubles teams. Nik VanDyke and Damon Uhde won at #1 doubles while Connor Quelle and Tenzin Dahl took the #2 doubles match.

May 14 @ St. Michael-Alberville

Minnewaska 7 Moorhead 0 

On Saturday the Minnewaska boys’ tennis team was at St. Michael-Albertville for a triangular. Moorhead was the third team in the mix.

The Lakers made short work of the Spuds, taking a 7-0 victory while trying out some new combinations at singles and doubles. 

Damon Uhde stepped into the #1 singles spot and took a 6-0, 6-0 win. Tate Reichmann, usually the # 1 singles player, and Gannon Walsh, most often playing in the #2 singles slot, teamed up to win the #1 doubles match, 6-2, 6-0.

May 14 @ St. Michael-Alberville

Minnewaska 4 St. Michael-Albertville 3 

Minnewaska took on the host team in what turned out to be a tight match, with the Lakers prevailing by the slimmest of margins.

The outcome turned on a pair of matches that went three sets. Gannon Walsh dropped the first set at #2 singles by a 7-6 score, then bounced back to win the second and third sets. 

The #1 doubles team of Nik VanDyke and Tenzin Dahl won the first set but dropped the second, forcing a third and deciding set. VanDyke and Dahl prevailed by a 10-8 score, giving the Lakers a 4-3 team victory.

The boys’ tennis team has just one match scheduled in the upcoming week, a triangular at Sartell with Foley competing as well.
