Mona Gregersen, center, was honored recently by the Starbuck GFWC members

Mona Gregersen, center, is honored by her General Federation of Women’s Club (GFWC) Starbuck members for being chosen as the MN GFWC Jennie Award candidate. Marlene Hippe presented her with flowers from the club as Lorie Billehus, president, announced it to the audience at their open community meeting on April 21 regarding scamming and frauds.

The Jennie Award is the Federation’s highest honor awarded. Club members submitted her as their club nominee to GFWC of Minnesota where she was chosen for her outstanding volunteer contributions to her club, community, family and to an extended family. Her nomination went on to GFWC Mississippi River Valley Region, which is made up of 8 states, each submitting a candidate. She was chosen as one of the two finalists, one of which went on to the National Jennie Award contest.

Mona has been an inspirational member of the GFWC Starbuck as well as to our community. Club members are very proud of her volunteerism and enthusiasm.
