MINNEWASKA AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT #2149 GLENWOOD, MINNESOTA WEDNESDAY, JUNE 8, 2022 SPECIAL WORK SESSION MINUTES

The Minnewaska Area Schools Board of Education met in special session on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 in the Minnewaska Area High School Media Center. The meeting was called to order at 6:15 p.m. by Vice-Chairperson Zavadil. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 

Members Present: Zavadil, T. Reichmann, Holtberg, A. Reichmann, 

Motion by T. Reichmann, seconded by Holtberg, to approve the agenda as presented. 

Roll Call Vote:  Aye: Zavadil, T. Reichmann, Holtberg, A. Reichmann

Nay: None

Motion carried.

T. Reichmann nominated A. Reichmann for School Board Clerk for the remainder of the 2022 calendar year, it was seconded by Zavadil. Vote was taken, A. Reichmann was elected Clerk.

Roll Call Vote:  Aye: Zavadil, T. Reichmann, Holtberg, A. Reichmann

Nay: None

Motion carried.

Sitelogiq was present and presented a facility analysis on the districts buildings and recommendations for possible upgrades to district facilities. 

Superintendent Rankin presented re-cap of the 2021-2022 school year.

Katie Elenberger, Spark 27 founder and Creative Brand Strategists, was in attendance and provided the school board with a review of projects completed in FY22. Katie also presented the FY23 contract proposal including goals for the upcoming year.

Little Lakers Preschool Coordinator, Sara Nestor gave an update on the Little Lakers Preschool program and the Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE).

Minnewaska Area Elementary School Principal, Scott Lempka, gave an update on the planning and preparations for summer school for 2022.

The Buildings and Grounds Director, Ethen Schoen, gave an update on the Summer 2022 cleaning process and projects to be completed.
