Phil Stumpf on his Gator that will be used to collect donations on July 3.

Phil Stumpf, and his wife Catherine, have sponsored Independence Day fireworks shows for six years on the grounds of Evergreen Park. “This year, our show is being held on Sunday, July 3 to coincide with the United Parish’s Ice Cream Social. We invite the community to come out to the park around 8 p.m. to enjoy music and help us raise funds for Pope County Families in Need,” said Stumpf.

“We get asked every year if community members can donate to the fireworks show, and we have always done it as a way of giving back to the community. This year, we thought we could use the fireworks show as an opportunity to raise money for an organization that is near and dear to both me and Catherine’s hearts,” he added.

Attendees are asked to bring seating for themselves. “In the past, people have brought along cornhole games, frisbees and picnics. We just want them to come and enjoy themselves and support the cause,” Stumpf mentioned.

The Stumpf crew will be seen around the lawn driving their gator with the free will donation sign and a place to put donations for the Pope County Families in Need organization.
