The first day of the Class AA Minnesota State Championship Boys’ Golf Tournament turned out to be a difficult golf day with extremely high temperatures and high winds. Throw in some nerves and Riley Larson did not shoot his typical score, carding an 88 on the first 18 holes of the tourament. Wednesday, Larson was more in form, hitting 78% of the fairways and 55% of the greens in regulation. A cool putter, however, left him with a score of 81 on the second day, finishing strong in the MAHS junior’s first state tournament appearance. Larson finished with a two-day score of 169 in a three-way tie for 65th place in the tournament.
