Showstoppers is gearing up to begin rehearsals and build sets for their upcoming production of “Bye Bye Birdie!” They still have roles available for high school or college aged young men. They are also in need of volunteers to help collect tickets and help with set building. If you are interested in being a part of the show as an actor or volunteer, please reach out via the Showstoppers Facebook page OR call production manager, Mandy Recker at 320-424-0979.
Why join a community theater production? The reasons are varied and plentiful. Theater allows nonprofessional actors to collaborate with each other in pursuit of a common goal, while advancing social bonds, self-knowledge, and self-improvement. For the performers, their fellow cast members are a group of people who become a vital support system during the time they spend together during rehearsals and performances. It’s a place to meet new people and create friendships, a safe place for young actors to learn from adult mentors not tied to their formal education. And it’s a place to explore a new hobby and interests – acting, singing, dancing, set building, costuming, stage properties and box office just to name a few.
From the moment the curtain raises to the final bow, the cast and audience become a part of an experience that will be shared and remembered for years to come.
Showstoppers looks forward to sharing this performance experience with you!
