Please come to our fun free summer reading program to see George of the Juggle. The program will be at the Central Square gym on Thursday, July 14, at 2 p.m. Come see George’s comedy magic and juggling with entertaining tricks using everyday objects and classic illusions. Everyone is welcome!
New at the library we have “The Record Keeper” by Charles Martin. Publisher’s Weekly says, “Martin follows up ‘The Water Keeper’ with this heartrending action-packed chapter in the saga of Murphy Shepherd. Those familiar with the series will appreciate the emotional punch this rip-roaring adventure packs.”
A decades-long friendship between two vastly different women is tested in the twilight of their lives in “Fellowship Point” by Alice Elliott Dark. Celebrated children’s author Agnes Lee is determined to secure her legacy to complete the final volume of her Franklin Square series of novels, and to permanently protect Fellowship Point, the majestic coastal Maine peninsula where she has spent all 79 summers of her life. To donate the land to a trust, Agnes must convince the remaining shareholders, including her lifelong best friend and neighbor, Polly Wister, to agree to the plan. But Polly’s sons have their own vision for the land, forcing Polly to choose between friendship and family.
In the children’s picture book section we have “People are Wild.” Wild creatures come in all shapes and sizes. They can be playful or loud or curious or cute, just like kids. “People are Wild” turns the tables and asks what animals think of us. We may not always see eye to eye, but the more we understand each other, the better we’re able to live in harmony. Adorable pictures accompany how fish laugh at a scuba diver or butterflies watch a playground full of children. What does an elephant see when it looks at you?
