Governor Preus gives the Fourth of July address

Glenwood celebrated the Fourth last Tuesday. The number visiting Glenwood on that day has been estimated between four and five thousand people. The day was ideal for the celebration and people began coming in early. Governor Preus gave the Fourth of July address. Other events included a parade, a band concert, acrobatic stunts, a baseball game, a dance at the pavilion and fireworks.

The Pope County Public Health Association will have Olivia Peterson serving as a demonstration nurse in Pope County for one week beginning August 8 to 14 inclusive. This nurse will be equipped to demonstrate infant and child hygiene as well as showing motion pictures in all sections of the county. There is no charge for any of the work, same being paid for out of the returns from the Christmas Seals the people have purchased. 

Case & Company sells drug store. Mr. R.F. Case came to Starbuck in 1898 and bought the drug business from Mr. O. J. Johnson. He has previously been in the drug business at Dassel for fifteen years. For several years, his brother-in-law L. B. Stocking was in partnership with him, and then his son, W. R. Case bought out stock and has been in partnership with his father ever since. W. R. Case also served as mayor of Starbuck.
