One of the best smells of fall is homemade apple pie or apple crisp and what better way to celebrate the scents than by attending Eple Tiden 2022 at the Starbuck Depot and Museum on September 17. The classic fall festival creates a warm environment filled with tradition, entertainment, and in true Scandinavian fashion, food.

Eple Tiden means Apple Time in Norwegian, and the celebration truly is apple time. The menu features foods created with the fruit. This year includes a performance by the Glacial Hills Elementary students at 11 a.m., a Viking long boat replica display, open house of the depot, a raffle, produce and craft vendors as well as several activities.

This year marks the 31st celebration of the annual festival. Scandinavian dishes featured on the menu will be Rømmegrøt, lefsa roll ups and Varme Polse. There will be caramel apple slices, apple bars, apple cider along with barbeques, donuts and beverages.

The depot will open at 10 a.m. for the event and will be available for tours until 2 p.m. Keep an eye out for next week’s Tribune/Times for more information.
