PUBLIC NOTICE

A civil action has been commenced in Pope County District Court. Plaintiffs are the State of Minnesota, by Peters Sunset Beach, Inc., Peters Sunset Beach, Inc., Sunset Beach Cottage Owners Association, Inc., and Pezhekee, Inc. Defendant is Pope County. The Complaint was filed September 14, 2022. The acts complained of are that Pope County plans to reconstruct South Lakeshore Drive with a project design that would result in pollution, impairment or destruction of natural resources in violation of the Minnesota Environmental Rights Act.  Plaintiffs seek declaratory, injunctive, and other relief.
