American Solutions for Business (ASB) will be hosting a Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® event on Sat., October 8. The proceeds collected from the registration, as well as household items donated, will be presented to local 501c3 organization, Someplace Safe of Pope County.

Participants will register to walk a one-mile course around Barsness Park in Glenwood. They will also be doing so while wearing high-heel shoes. The purpose of the shoes is to match the feeling of discomfort from discussing the topic of domestic violence, to the discomfort of wearing women’s shoes. Men are highly encouraged to participate to help show support for these difficult conversations and uphold accountability.
