Last week, fifth grade students from five area schools attended conservation day at SWELL, the Scandia Woods Environmental Learning Lab. The students come from Pope and Stevens County to participate in the daylong event. The event gives them a chance to learn hands-on as they progress around the property through learning stations related to wildlife, orienteering, prairie habitat, wetlands and several others.
