NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING AND PUBLIC HEARINGS
This is to notify the public that the regular meeting of the Pope County Board of Adjustment will take place on Thursday, October 27th, 2022 beginning at or about 6:00 pm or shortly thereafter in the Pope County Courthouse to consider the following agenda items:
• Review meeting minutes from September 22nd, 2022 BOA meeting.
• New Business
o Variance hearing on the application by Earl Schaub for Oak Ranch LLC, if granted would allow applicant to locate accessory structures at 150 feet from the Ordinary High Water Level (OHWL) where 200 feet is the minimum setback standard in a Shoreland-Natural Environment (S-NE) zoning district per Section 4.4.4.A. and 4.6.5.A.1 of the Pope County Land Use Controls Ordinance. Parcel is described as being located in: Part of the Northeast Quarter (NE¼) of the Northeast Quarter (NE¼), Section 25, Township 124 (Barsness), Range 38, Pope County, Minnesota.
o Public Hearing: A public hearing will be held to receive comments regarding the application for relief from the OHWL setback.
o Variance hearing on the application by Kent Lundblad on behalf of Jason & Nicole Killey, in conformance with Subdivision 9, Subpart 9.10, of the Pope County Subsurface Sewage Treatment System Ordinance a variance is requested to allow for reduced septic tank capacity of 1500 gallons where 2250 gallons is required as per Minnesota Rules, Chapter 7080.1930 in a Shoreland-Recreational Development (S-RD) zoning district. Parcel is described as: Lots 6 and 7, Aaneruds Park Addition to Twin Lakes Beach, Section 24, Township 126 (Leven), Range 37, Pope County, Minnesota.
o Public Hearing: A public hearing will be held to receive comments regarding the application for relief from the SSTS tank size standard.
o Variance hearing on the application by Samuel & Mary Strickler, if granted would allow applicants to locate portable structures including accessory structures and recreational vehicles at 75 feet from the Ordinary High Water Level (OHWL) where 200 feet is the minimum setback standard in a Shoreland-Natural Environment (S-NE) zoning district per Section 4.4.4.A. and 4.6.5.A.1 of the Pope County Land Use Controls Ordinance. Parcel is described as: The Southeast Quarter (SE¼) of the Southeast Quarter (SE¼), Section 22, Township 125 (Glenwood), Range 37, Pope County, Minnesota.
o Public Hearing: A public hearing will be held to receive comments regarding the application for relief from the OHWL setback.
Public participation by interested parties and citizens will include an opportunity to:
1) submit written concerns and comment prior to the scheduled meeting; All such communications will be shared with the Board of Adjustment prior to or during the meeting;
2) submit concerns and comments via Pope County’s Public Comment web map (https://popecounty.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=22a203912a864a77b4cdabe672e35e3f);
3) to review the staff prepared report via Pope County website;
4) observe and/or participate in the proceedings of the Board of Adjustment meeting.
