We will be having a special Thanksgiving Story Time for preschoolers on Thursday, Nov. 17, at 10:30 a.m. Story Time will resume on Dec. 1 after Thanksgiving. We look forward to seeing everyone!

New at the library we have Clare Mackintosh’s “The Last Party.” On New Year’s Eve, Rhys Lloyd has a house full of guests. His vacation homes on Mirror Lake are a success, and he’s generously invited the village to drink champagne with their wealthy new neighbors. But by midnight, Rhys will be floating dead in the freezing waters of the lake. On New Year’s Day Ffion Morgan has a village full of suspects. The tiny community is her home, so the suspects are her neighbors, friends and family, and Ffion has her own secrets to protect. With a lie uncovered at every turn, soon the question isn’t who wanted Rhys dead, but who finally killed him. In a village with this many secrets, murder is just the beginning.

We have Philippa Gregory’s newest best seller “Dawnlands.” Ned Ferryman, inspired by news of a rebellion against the Stuart kings, returns from America with his Pokanoker servant to join the uprising against the Roman Catholic King James. As Ned swears loyalty to the charismatic Duke of Monmouth, he discovers a new and unexpected love. This is book three of the Fairmile Series. Kirkus Reviews reports, “This is Philippa Gregory par excellence.”

In the children’s picture book section we have “Firefighter Flo!” “The phone rang, the bell went clang. Lights flashed, and sirens whined. Firefighter Flo is ready to go!”
