United Way of Douglas and Pope Counties, with the help of many volunteers, helped pack bags of food for the Backpack Attack Program at Lakeside in Glenwood last Tuesday. The event was part of the “Live United” luncheon and informs the community about projects and impact United Way is having on the community.  The Backpack Attack program helps out children in the area with food during school breaks.  At right, Merle Wagner (left) and other volunteers assemble food items for children.
