A team of volunteers from the Starbuck VFW and Starbuck Fire Department Auxiliaries worked together on another successful Christmas Care for residents of Western Pope County. The event was held on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022. (Lois Brecht, Carol Holten and Sandy Jones were not present at the time of the picture.) Many thanks also go to Terry Dunn and Dorothy Stepina, to citizens and organizations who contributed financially and to those who worked behind the scenes to get the VFW ready for the event. Christmas Care, a program of the Starbuck VFW, Auxiliary and the Starbuck Fire Department Auxiliary, serves families in need in Western Pope County (Starbuck, Lowry, Cyrus). The program depend on members of the community to submit the names of families. Financial donations for next year’s program can be mailed to the Starbuck Fire Department Auxiliary, Box 621, Starbuck, MN 56381 c/o Christmas.
