Nursing work established again in Pope County

The nursing work has again been established in Pope County by the Pope County chapter of the Red Cross, and a nurse has been in the field since the first of December. The following is a report of her first month’s work: Children examined – 323, defects of eyes – 56, defects of ears – 15, defects of teeth – 136, defects of nose – 7, defects of throat – 47, defects of skin – 61, defects of glands – 38, 7% underweight – 44, corrections made – 188.  Report by Olivia Peterson, Nurse.

The chiropractic office conducted by the late Elizabeth Witts has been re-opened by Dr. S. N. Witts.

Ice cutting, hauling and packing started the first of the week in Starbuck. Louis Stenson has the contract and with a number of men and teams is busy every day.

Walter Stinson received a Christmas cablegram Christmas morning from his father, H. B. Stinson from Buenos Ayres. The cablegram was sent at 8 a.m. and received here a little after 10 a.m.

The married people’s dance club enjoyed their first dance of the season at Krueger’s Inn last Friday night. The music was furnished by Ernest Kaldahl and Lorna Brosvik. Everyone seemed to enjoy the evening.

P.J. Flantlery has installed at the Motor Inn, a 2 stage Amplifying Radio unit and has picked up stations as far as Atlanta, Ga.

The White Bear Lake Farmer’s Club will be in school house, District 92, Thursday evening the 11th. The election of officers will also be held.
