Weather cooperates, allows Bosek’s ice rink to open

A local family is again providing a skating rink for the community. With the latest cold snap, The Pond, an ice skating rink built and maintained by the Cody Bosek family, is now ready for public use.  The Pond, located at 180 4th Ave. SE in Glenwood, is a 503c non-profit operation and is free for anyone to use, according to Cody Bosek.   “We recommend $3 donation per skater because we donate all proceeds to various local charities. This year proceeds go to Safe Families for Children. It also helps pay for the electric bill,” he explained.  Hours for The Pond are Wednesday  through Sunday from noon until 8 p.m.. The Boseks may not always be home during those times, “but if we are we will have music playing, and a warming hut warmed up.”   Monday and Tuesday are rehab days for the rink if it needs it, Bosek explained.  At right, the Bosek family (from left) are: Lexi Bosek, Kiarra Bosek, Cori Bosek, Ema Bosek, Aaliyah Olson and Cody Bosek.
