Let’s Talk! The public is invited to attend a community-wide Question, Persuade and Refer (QRP) Suicide Prevention Training on Thursday, Jan. 12, at 6 p.m. at the Minnewaska House Brewing Co. and Grill. We hope you’re able to join us!
QPR is a 1.5-hour training for any community member to learn basic skills to assist someone at risk for suicide. By asking a simple question, you can save a life.
QPR stands for Question, Persuade and Refer. These are three simple steps that anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade and refer someone to help. Each year thousands of Americans, like you, are saying “yes” to saving the life of a friend, colleague, sibling or neighbor.
Please join in for this training opportunity and a light meal sponsored by the Pope County Early Childhood(EC)/THRIVE Initiative, Pope County Daycare Association, Safe Families for Children, H.E.L.P. Council (Helping Everyone Live in Peace) and Pope County Farm Bureau.
