New owners of Kroonblawd’s Tailor Shop

From the Pope County Tribune, Thursday, Jan. 11, 1923.

The Glenwood Shipping Association held their annual meeting at the city hall of Tuesday of this week. The old officers were reelected with G. M. Gandrud as president, George Hurst, Secretary, and Hans Moen, director. The old Directors, P. Nelson and C.W. Olson hold over. The increase in business last year with Theodore Ogdahl as manager was very satisfactory to the association. The number of cars shipped was 50. This was an increase of 9 cars over last year and two more cars than the largest number that the association has shipped since it started. Considering that the Glenwood Shipping Association has a rival organization, this speaks well for the management of the association.

From the Glenwood Herald, Thursday, Jan. 11, 1923.

A deal was closed last Monday whereby A. G. Bjork of Morris becomes the owner of the Sam Kroonblawd’s tailor shop. Mr. Bjork has conducted a tailor shop in Morris for nine years, but sold his business about four months ago. Since that time he has been looking around for a location and decided to settle here. He is a practical tailor and cutter and Mr. Kroonblawd tells us that the business will be conducted very much as it has been before.

W. S. Toombs, who for many years has been conducting a furniture store in Glenwood has sold his stock to Carl V. Anderson of Alexandria and N. R. Olson of Wahpeton, N.D.  The new firm will be known as the Glenwood Furniture Company. Mr. Toombs will continue to reside in Glenwood for the present and will work for the new firm. The new firm has already received a great deal of new stock which they have ordered. They expect to establish an up-to-date furniture store in every way.
