The Red Cross ladies sewed for donations

Glenwood is going to have a ski tournament on February 12th. With the large amount of snow we have this year, the local sport fans thought it was time to get busy and the result was that a ski tournament was scheduled for Monday, February 12th. G. C. Torguson, former president of the National Ski Association, was able to get into touch with the best skiers in this country.

From the Glenwood Herald, Thursday, Feb. 1, 1923. 

A deal was closed last Tuesday whereby R. C. Klinkenberg became the owner of W. F. Dougherty’s interest in the First National Bank of Glenwood. Mr. Klinkenberg is already here and began work in the bank on Tuesday. Mr. Dougherty leaves the bank on account of the illness of his wife. He finds that it is necessary for him to have more leisure so that he can give more care.

From the Starbuck Times, Friday, Feb. 2, 1923. 

The Red Cross ladies met Saturday afternoon at the school house and sewed and knitted. Miss Olivia Peterson was present and spoke to the ladies. The following is a list of garments that have been made during the month of January: 6 sheets, 6 pillow cases, 10 night gowns, 1 night shirt, 1 pneumonia jacket, 6 towels, 1 wash cloth, 4 pair of stockings, and 4 pair of mittens. 28 articles including 2 new dresses, bed pads, union suits, underwear and clothing have been donated.
