Despite a winter that won’t let go of its grip on the area, the Glenwood Dairy Queen was opened for the spring-summer season last week despite the amount of snow that is piled in front of the local facility.  A smiling face and a sign painted into the snowbank in front of the local DQ let passing motorists know the place was open for business.  Although it may have remained a bit too cold for some to enjoy ice cream treats, the DQ was attracting customers throughout the week.  It’s opening is a harbinger of spring and signals that it won’t be long until the snow disappears and warm, sunny days prevail.
