Duininck Concrete roundabout project located at TH29 and 160th St. in Glenwood, Minn., received a MnDOT Merit Award. The MnDOT Concrete Rating Panel announced the project was rated the best of its type completed in Minnesota during 2022. The roundabout provides critical support to a larger infrastructure improvement.

The Glenwood-based Duininck Concrete division worked on this project in partnership with Minneopa Concrete during the summer of 2022. This joint effort actively demonstrates Duininck Concrete’s driven, durable, team-centric values that focus on confident forward motion and welcome challenges. The team produced and poured 1,728.5 cubic yards that was used in various stages, including curbing and paving applications.

“The team ensured a high-performing product and quality service were delivered at every pour,” said Rodney Kolstad, Duininck Concrete’s Glenwood and Sauk Centre plant manager.

While maintaining reliable, quality and efficient service to their local markets, Duininck Concrete provided locally sourced aggregate that was triple washed to withstand seasonal wear and tear. The project was a collaborative, cross-departmental effort with team members from the northern, southern and sales divisions providing support.

Duininck Concrete received the award at the MnDOT Concrete Paving Association of Minnesota Awards Banquet on March 9 in Waite Park, Minn.
