Minnewaska Area Elementary School students in Grade 3 were the winners of the recent Penny War, which was a part of their “I Love to Read” month activities and the Reading4Research campaign. Altogether, the school raised $2,688.68 for pediatric cancer research, with each grade level contributing. Donations were: Kindergarten – $616.89;  Grade 1 – $717.41; Grade 2 – $447.03; and Grade 3 – $907.35. “We’re so proud of our students and their efforts. Kindness Matters!,” it was stated by MAES teacher Megan Greene.
