Last week, March 20-23, Minnewaska Area students visited our nation’s capital. The group of 108 students (mainly 9th-11th graders) and 30 chaperones spent four days touring all kinds of historic places. Some of the highlights were the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum, Gettysburg, the Arlington Cemetery which included the Changing of The Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Old Town Alexandria, Mount Vernon, the Holocaust Museum as well as several Memorial sites (Lincoln Memorial, various war memorials, etc.). Another highlight were the infamous cherry blossoms that are in full bloom this time of year.
