Kiwanis formed in Glenwood

Due to the recent thaw, the farmers have had to resort to the four wheeled vehicles instead of the bobs, as their means of conveyance.

A local club of the international organization known as the Kiwanis has been formed in this city with an initial membership of 35 business and professional men. Officers and a Board of Directors have been elected and committee appointments will be announced at a meeting to be held tomorrow evening. 

As already mentioned, Kiwanis is an international organization, the object of which is the cultivation of the spirit of good fellowship and practical application of the principle of the Golden Rule in modern everyday life. 

The following officers were elected: President, G. C. Wollan; Vice president, Dr. J. Jeffers; Secretary, Rev. E. W. Benedict; Treasurer, C. A. Swanson; Trustee, H. P. Peters; who with E. R. Selnes. Geo. Hershman, Rev. B. Petermeier, O. B. Wollan, and A. R. Torrens constitute the Board of Directors.

Last Tuesday men from the village got out with shovels and picks and spent the entire day opening the state road to Benson. They found some hard work as some deep ruts had to be made where the snow had drifted in deep and the alternate thaws and freezing made it so hard that it was difficult to handle.

J. E. Racicot, Band Organizer and Instructor of Little Falls will be at the Modern Woodmen of America Hall next Tuesday evening for the purpose of trying to organize a band. All those interested should be present.
