Glenwood City Commissioners last Tuesday took care of business in short order.

Commissioners approved a gambling permit for Glenwood Waterama to conduct a raffle on July 30 at City Park.

Commissioners also appointed Carl Willen to the Glenwood Park Board and accepted the resignation of Donna Stelter from the Glenwood HRA Board.

In other action, the commission activated billing for the base amount for water and sewer utility service for Lowell Perry.

The commission also denied a request from Cody Bosek to waive a survey of the property lines as he adds a garage to his property.  Because of a backlog in survey work, Bosek asked for the city to allow him to use GIS data with a neighboring property owner rather than rely on a formal survey to determine property lines.  Property lines “are a big deal” said Commissioner Mavis Pattee. She stated that the GIS could be a foot off and that could create some liability for the city.

The commission also approved a rezoning of lots 14 & 15 in the Thompson Addition at the request of Willow Feigum.  The rezoning was from Business-1 to Residential-1.

The commission also approved paying the first half of 2023 property taxes in the amount of $40,761; as well as expenditures totaling $201.998.35l and March expenditures totaling $4532,435.60.
