‘Who Killed the Lefsa?’

Starbuck committee to present theater production
The Starbuck Beautification Committee is sponsoring a night on the town with Mayor Swenson with a mystery dinner theater production of Who Killed the Lefse? The performance will take place on Saturday, May 27 at the Starbuck Community Center with social hour beginning from 5:30 to 6 p.m.
The production includes a cast of local celebrities including Tom Beuckens, Deb Gorder Thompson, Shari Opdahl, Katy Leppa, Peddler Dan, Leah Hagen, Addy Spanier and Cam Johnson. The original performance is written and directed by Paul Warshauer, Producing Artistic Director, Author, Director and Host of Murders4Fun.
Warshauer has been involved in performing arts for over 40 years and hails from Chicago, Ill. He has written, produced and directed nearly 300 productions. Murders4Fun creates productions based on requests and can range from a kidnapping to a jewel heist. This production was created specifically for this area.
The plot includes a record-breaking lefse, the mayor, his wife and chief of staff, a chef, a queen and two princesses, and a happy-go-lucky chamber director. Lori Vaadeland is the producer of Who Killed the Lefse? Vickie Kuehn oversees the actors, ensuring they look the parts and gets them to where they are supposed to be.
“The winter was long, so we invite everyone to come and participate and enjoy the plot of the play,” stated Vaadeland. There will be a silent auction as well as hanging baskets for sale to raise funds for the Beautification Committee.
