Mjøsen Lodge members held their annual Midsommarfest picnic and coronation of Royalty at Glenwood City Park last Tuesday evening. Member Rose Meade thanked last year’s Royalty Blake and Peyton Andersen, children of Steve and Magan Andersen of Starbuck.

Rose introduced this year’s Princess Skylar, daughter of Chris and Karla Jermy. She will be a 2nd grader at Minnewaska Area School this fall and participates in gymnastics. Her mother Karla (Dahlseng) was Mjøsen Lodge’s Princess in 1992.

The 2023 Queen Aly Elenberger was crowned by the assistance of 2022 Queen Peyton. Aly is the daughter of Randy and Katie (Dahlseng) Elenberger and will be entering 7th grade at MAHS this fall. She likes singing in choir and playing her trumpet, guitar and piano. Aly also has a passion for ice skating and likes to spend time on the lake with family and friends.

The Lodge Royalty will be sharing greetings this summer from the Lodge’s Viking ship during community parades in Starbuck, Brooten and Glenwood.  Queen Aly and Princess Skylar are the granddaughters of Deb and Allen Dahlseng of Pope County.

Mjøsen Lodge was established in 1916 and continues to provide monthly cultural programs on Scandinavian culture, present and past. All are welcome to our monthly programs.
